For me, I think it was those domino shaped jobs that had shoestring like stuff attached and when you turned one over, all the other turned over too. Used to sit mesmerized for hours just turning the dumb things over and over. There was also that woven reed thing you put one finger in each end then couldn't pull either finger out of it, that was good for parties and stuff.

Peapie, those would have been Tinker Toys.

That would have to be the weird stuff we built with the erector sets we had. Why did someone think it was okay to invent something with so many little pieces to pick up and lose and step on. Must have been a man. Noisy little buggers in the vacuum.

I choose the Whoopee cushion. I would blow it up and place it under a cushion on the couch or a chair, then wait hours for someone to sit on it. That would be the funnest part of my day. Especially if my grandma sat there! LOL
I also liked invisible ink. Oops, sorry I spilled it on your white shirt! LOL

I agree with Slinky. I just loved that crazy thing. I'm glad they still make them. I had the Scottie dog magnets too. I had forgotten about them. I may still have them somewhere. I kept them for a very long time.

Any toy that came in a Cracker Jacks box. Sometimes it took awhile to figure out what it was. They weren't as cheap of a toy as they give out today.

I wasn't really into toys too much - but the strangest gift I ever received was a daggum wood burning set....OK, so I used it to burn my name into my sled, but after that what good was it? LOL
I was a kid who preferred the outdoors - tadpole catching; bike riding; skating; kickball and the like...and oh, yeah JACKS!

a bucket on conckers [horse chestnuts]
used to use them as balls and also make picutres out of them by arranging them on the floor as wel as play conkers with them. and we would go down after school and chuck stones up into the trees to try and knock more down :)

The Slinky. It was just weird. It didn't really do much, but it was fascinating to watch.
