Whether they turn out to be innocent victims or guilty perpetrators (and NONE of us know) Kate and Gerry will have to live the rest of their lives with whatever happened that night, and they will one day have the heavy burden of explaining it all to the twins.
What a s**tty situation for everyone involved.

When the twins are old enough to understand and read things on the internet, I wonder if some of the people on here will be able to justify the unfounded, and occasionally disgusting, allegations they've made against their parents.

Listen kiddies... Mum and Dad were comedians once, years ago..... we went to Portugal many years ago and, one way or the other through negligence, your older sister disappeared. Then we hired this car so we could go look for Madeleine, but instead we left for the Vatican the day after the car was hired. Somehow while we were away, some nice people drove that car and they must have found Madeleine because the Portuguese Police withthe help of English forensic laboratories (in England) found proof inside the boot that your sister was in the boot of the car 25 days after she had disappeared. Are you already confused, kiddies ? The whole world was so no surprise there. The Portuguese Police tried to frame us, you see (LOL), if weren't for Mr Mitchell we would be behind bars already. Genius Mr Mitchel decided that the best technique would be to demonize the PJ-GNR so as to make it more believable that we are innocent. So instead of concentrating on the evidence that the PJ had found, evidence that ANY POLICE FORCE IN THE WORLD WOULD HAVE TAKEN NOTICE OF and evidence established with the help of English forensics, Mr. Mitchel decided that the best course of action would be to accuse the PJ Police of not looking for Madeleine. LOLOL
That horrible PJ-GNR put some 40 questions to us but we decided to shut up and ignore.... They were leading questions, you see :-) questions that LED us right out of Portugal to the safety of England where the arm of the Law does not seem to reach. --- And if none of this makes any sense, kiddies, it's not surprising because it never made any sense to anyone else either.
Then the people who give this answer the thumbs down, LOL are people who con't see that THAT evidence is evidence that ANY POLICE FORCE IN THE WORLD WOULD HAVE TAKEN NOTICE OF. So no more dumbs down !!
Finally, when Mum finished telling them, one of the twins turns to Mum and asks "MUM WAS THAT TODAY'S BED TIME STORY, you know, BED TIME FICTION ?" -- Not even toddlers swallow that story, right !

they will tell them the same lies they have told the police and the public, you have to feel sorry for these children god only knows what they will be confronted with in later years in their lives
