hey I am sure you will get loads of cool answers like when you are in a moving car and it stops or you the car suddenly starts moving...or when the car takes a sudden turn and so on and so forth.
I would like to give the example of WTC. Remember that 9/11 attack on World Trade Centre By Osama Bin Laden. Why do you think the whole building fell down? The aeroplane just hit it at 1 point. Thats because of inertia.

A body at rest tends to remain at rest and a body in motion tends to remain in motion. This results in many household arguments if the wife is constantly doing housework while the husband remains a couch potato (with beer and pretzels!). Also, a pot of water will remain in place on the stove and an object that is dropped on the floor will remain in motion until an opposing force (the floor) stops it.

this is a very unfortunate error that gets people killed every year on our streets and highways. "a body in motion wants to stay in motion" fairly frequently a car coming up to a stop sign will suddenly change lanes at the very last minute not even considering that he has just cut off a fully loaded semi that needed the room he just took to stop. In the industry, the area in front of a semi required to bring it to a stop is called the DEAD ZONE, because if someone at the last minute decides to change lanes and stop in the dead zone, he has a high probability of being dead very quickly because the truck, weighing 62.5 tons of more, NEEDS that space to stop and there is often NOTHING the driver can do to avoid running over the unfortunate and uncaring individual who pulled this.

When you're in the car and going 55 mph and you have to slam on your brakes, your body goes forward because your body cant't stop as fast as the car. Remember, your body was also moving at 55 mph.

A building applies a force on the earth, and the earth applies a force back. (Law3) A marble would continue rolling in a straight line on a perfectly smooth surface, except for friction which slows it down. (Law1) Is this what you are looking for??

A hammer 'wants' to keep moving, so bashes the nail out of the way.
