for candlemaking. does anyone know? what do you melt your wax in?

I've always used a double boiler (basically, a pot of water boiling [or simmering] with another pot with the wax on top/inside of it)
Beings I'm not using it for food, I buy mine at thrift stores.

You'll be much better off with an electric skillet and use stainless containers in that. This way the wax isn't really on the tool that heats up, and if you make a really horrible mess you can just throw the stainless container away.

This is how I melt wax when I do batik.
