I did an online tarot reading.

My question was mainly to determine if the guy that i love (who is overseas) and i will ever be together.

I did the horseshoe spread and these were my cards:
-Past influences - 5 of wands
-present circumstances - 5 of swords
-hopes and fears - king of wands
-obstacles - the hang man
-others attitudes- 2 of wands
-influences around you - queen of swords
- final outcome - ten of pentacles

What does it mean. please help me interpret this someone

king of wands says that you should date someone else because the hang man indicates that he is over there screwing his ex girfriend. thanks to the ten of pentacles, suggests he is not being 100% honest.

The current circumstances are shown by the 5 of Swords, while the past influences are shown by the 5 of Wands. This most likely means that the current environment is one of discord, with people involved set against each other.

The Queen of Swords tells you to be honest with yourself and others. Combined with the King of Wands, who tells you to be creative, charismatic and bold, together they form a pair.

The Hanged Man stands as an obstacle. The Hanged Man means sacrifice, due to present circumstances you must sacrifice the present for the future. If you really love this guy and want to be with him when he comes back from overseas, you must sacrfice the present for the future. This could mean many different things, but I would suggest that you not throw away the future you may have with him for what happens now.

The final outcome is shown by the 10 of Pentacles which is a VERY positive card. Basically, if you "play your cards right", the future looks good.

The thing about tarot cards is that there really isn't a right or wrong meaning about them. It is all to do with your intuition, in conjuction with a traditional meaning of the card. But there are always guidelines.
5's any suit are usually talking about a specific problem. You have a 5 in the past and present- you need to identify what this 'issue' may be. Your 'others attitudes' being a 2 (meaning a division, or trying to juggle 2 parts) of wands (action!) maybe means you are divided between what you, and what others want for you (ie you may think something is good for you, someone else says no, this is good for you) or you are fighting to integrate parts of yourself.
Q of Swords around you....look for a woman, who may have your best interests at heart, but is aggressive, again this may be you, your own worst enemy sort of thing.
10 of Pent....well the ten of any card is like a completion, a 'seeing what you have' card, it usally means very good.

As I say, there are traditional meanings to the cards, you need to use your intuition as to what it the best for you :)

I have not done this spread myself, so I cannot answer your question about this exactly. I can probably give you some advice, though. First of all, it is my strong belief that Tarot cannot really answer a question like the one you posed as the future is not fully determined yet. Tarot can only show you the picture of the present and give you an advice of what you can do to make things better. Second, if I interpret it correctly (as I said I have not done this spread myself), the reading is somewhat negative overall about the present. The 10 of pentacles in the future position on the other hand (given what you asked) is likely to mean that your relationship has a potential to work out in the longer term. Good luck.

Did you know that the current edition of playing cards was actually taken from the minor arcana? The suits of wands, swords, cups and coins/pentacles correspond to the playing card suits of clubs, spades, hearts and diamonds.

Also, in determing a reading, the position of the card itself (along with the suit) helps to determine whether or not the card is positive or negative. When tarot readers make it simple by placing all the cards right-side up, its like saying everyone on the baseball team has to bat right-handed. You ignore the natural progression that would come from letting people/cards bat the way that best suits the situation.

All descriptions will follow based upon the R-W deck.

Five of wands: Conflict and confusion. Although it seems like the 5 men seem to be working together, they actually aren't getting anything done. Each of their faces looks in a different direction, which implies focusing on a different aspect of the problem. In other words, no communication.

5 of swords: One man walking away while another is left holding the swords, either as a trophy from the battle or as a remembrance from the loss, or both. Lack of communication or difficulty dealing can force a person into walking away from a situation. In either case, one person is left holding the remains.

King of wands: a noble ruler of infinite possibilities, tempered by their trial by fire. In other words, what doesn't destroy us makes us stronger.

The Hanged Man: Indecision, stagnation between two points, and the strong possibility that, despite the circumstances, all is not as it appears. The hanged man implies lack of control, in his surroundings, but the hanged man himself is not in distress. The flowering of the rods on either side of him suggest that the hanged man is using this opportunity to grow in a more internal and personal way, rather than an external way. For example, if one cannot go to college (external) but stays at home and does alot of studying and reading on their own, their 'stagnation' is not really stagnation but an internal or personal journey of self.

2 of wands: The explorer or sailor who holds the world the world in their hands and is already embarked upon a new adventure. If the Hanged Man suggests stagnation (albeit with preparation) the 2 of wands suggest that there are other avenues of exploration available. Also, it suggests that instead of feeling trapped, there is another perspective that sees this in a more positive and active light. Unlike the Hanged Man, who is tied up, the person in the 2 of wands makes a point of holding onto the world/their destiny.

Queen of swords: the suit of swords is notorious for its underpinnings of despair (living by the sword does have disadvantages) but swords can also be protective as well. The queen of swords suggests that someone is not as helpless as they might appear, although the sword being out of it's sheath implies that the person feels that whoever approaches needs to be on their toes. It could be someone in your life or someone in his life (or even someone in his past that is 'guarding' his heart.) Whereas the king of wands found strength via his trial by fire, the queen of swords finds insecurity (and thus the need for protection) through hers. There is a strong indication of caution being given out, and when you discover the source, then you can discover why its coming (what is making the sword come out of it's sheath.)

10 of pentacles: It could mean wealth (many different forms) and security, but it could also mean a wealth of a certain kind but a poverty of another. The man and the woman (with a child) could be the next generation or they could even be the remnants/memories of the old man when he was younger. In other words, the 'wealth' that the old man has is based upon the past. The two dogs sitting quietly at his feet could also be representations of the man and the woman in the background (much the same way Pygmalion and Galatea were turned into lions by Aphrodite after they grew old enough) and thus be comforts of his age.

In other words, the experience that you take away from this might not exactly be the kind of happiness that you were looking for, but it will 'enrich' you in the end.
