Well,as u can see,u have a common letter so u simply multiply the 2 and 3 and then sum the powers.
I guess it should be the 1st law of Indicies. SO your answer should be 6p^3.

2p*3p^2 = 2*3(p*p^2)
= 6(p^2+1)
= 6p^3.
I think u already know the answer....
PS:: Never Look at a maths number already biased that its hard,That way, even the simplest of them all will mess u up my dear.Just love it and always smile as u read through the qns,It works magic....

This is multiplication, so you can rearrange the numbers and the letters (variables) without changing the value of the formula:

2p x 3p**2 = (2 x p) x (3 x p x p) = (2 x 3) x (p x p x p) = 6p**3

(I used ** to mean an exponent.)

to make it easier
2 p * 3 p ^ 2 = 2 * p * 3 * p ^ 2 = 2 * 3 * p * p ^ 2
to multiply powers if the bases r the same, just add the powers and the base remains the same
so 2 * 3 *p *p ^ 2 = 6 * p ^ 1 * p ^ 2 = 6 * p ^ 3 = 6 p ^ 3
(*means times and ^2 means to the power two)
