Probably "Im lovin it" was more catchy. "We love to see you smile" was too long. I mean who doesn't know the classic tune of, "bada ba ba ba! Im lovin it!"? Good luck and I hope this helped you. :)

I think it's to be more "hip" and market to teenagers. I'm Lovin It is kind of a strange way to say I Love It and I am pretty sure it must have originated with high schoolers. (Remember the fad McDonalds tried to start, with commercials showing teens at lunch break in school lifting their pinky fingers while biting into a huge hamburger? It lasted about 5 minutes.)

Any advertising campaign will become old after a while! People get used to things, and they have less effect! The object of any advertising is to get your attention. After a while, any slogan or ad campaign will become old and dated, and the company involved will change it. You see this not only with McDonald's, but with every business.

They made a big international campaign with 'I'm loving it' translated in to all different languages, depending on where on the globe you visit a Mc Donalds you will see the same message. I don't recall 'We love to see you smile' was used where I live now nor where I used to live before now (both not USA) but in both countries they use the 'I'm loving it' slogan.

If they don't, they should. It would make the whole dining experience there worthwhile. It's certainly not worth going for the polystyrene burgers and cold fries.

i'm not sure but here's a guess...I would say because they wanted more people to like their food and think "well everyone seems to enjoy it so i should try it" and not just to smile at it!
i no that sounds weird but thats my opinion.
