Have you lived your life to its fullest, or would you have regrets if you died one minute from now?

2007-11-24 21:21:24 · 11 answers · asked by Anonymous in Arts & Humanities Philosophy

I used to before I lost my son, and now every moment I spend in my life, it is fruitful. I live and love like I am dying now...I feel like I am losing time with someone precious though, which has torn me lately...Want to be somewhere else with you Magπ.

So I thought I would see if any of you ever feel it is time taken for granted in your life, that could be used for other purposes.
Thank you! ~:0)

Yes. I would have regrets, unfortunatly I think most choices leave us with regrets, or "what ifs"...at least the difficult ones.

(Time is eternal but not in these bodies. Not when physical touch and comfort is so important. The spiritual is needed without a doubt but the physical is tangible and we need both.)

This question of yours has certainly pressed some buttons in me and my earth is starting to quake. For a long time I have lived in the eternity and I know that time is an illusion. The problem is that I am here on the earth, in this body, for a very limit amount of time. The world and its population and society and even my body don't know that time is an illusion. And there my friend is the dilemma. I have to wake myself up and act and do and accomplish and unfold before it's too late. Thanks for reminding me. This thing about time and everything else is a duality and somehow we have to make a balance in this case between time and no time. The philosopher Kant I believe once said that "where we are there is no space or time." That may be true but we still have to contend with the here and now and the limited time that we have here. We are not here for no reason. I try to be in the here and now and not to get lost in the past or some future dream of paradise. Destiny will have its way with me. I look forward to the interesting things that the cosmic forces place in my path, in my world, in my hands, in my heart and mind.

I have always been trying to tell myself how small I am and hence there should be no cause to regret..... not very successfully though!!

It is when we have regrets that we think we have taken time for granted..... if we can learn not to have regrets, we would be able to spend time freely without having to worry if we were taking time for granted.

However, the truth perhaps is that we can not learn never to regret..... since that may involve never to wish in the first place... once we wish, we would accordingly will and face the risk of it remaining unfulfilled.

Tough life, isn't it? What else to expect when no one can even control one's own mind fully?

There are a lot of things that I haven't done that I hope too. It becomes very easy to make excuses to put things off, and before you know it... you don't really have the option anymore. I try to think back on each week and I can't really recall doing much more than working, sleeping and that is all. I suppose I should get out there and start trying to do more...

Nobody can say they've never taken time for granted. We become used to life, because it's all we've ever experienced. Thus, we expect to live each day.

Time is an illusion. You and I are bonded. Eternally.

We transcend all measurements of the physical realm.
