I think women think they can make a difference and change them somewhat and make them into a bad boy type with this fantastic nice guy inside and it just does not work out that way!

ignore these idiots, i'll give you a solid answer: girls like "bad boys" because they are perceived as strong and therefore, "alpha". Commonly found in nature, alpha males of all species simply don't give a **** and never feel threatened by other males. They also give off a sense of mysteriousness and unpredictability which the "nice guy" doesn't do. However, a common fallacy is to think ALL of these "bad boy" types are alphas. As a matter of fact, you can actually be a nice guy and attract women, but you just need to know how a REAL alpha male thinks. A perfect example of an alpha who isn't a "bad boy" would be President Obama. He is super confident, thoughtful, and very articulate. Although he is alpha, he has no "bad boy" qualities about him. In fact, he is super respectful and pretty down to earth (met him at a restaurant in FL while he was campaigning). My wife liked me because I don't take crap from anyone. I wasn't a bully, I just didn't like humans. Here it is 16 years later and we're still together.
I used to beat the hell out of people left and right. I was in a fight nearly every day and my wife stepped in and actually helped me to improve myself through not trying to destroy everyone I met.
It still works too. I won't fight unless it is the last resort. I'd rather talk my way out of it.
I'm not perfect and I was independent at that time.
But, I suppose it beats being attracted to some comic collecting, star wars, star trek, action figure collecting nerd that still lives with his mommy.

I suppose some women like the excitement and spontaneity of bad boys. I like guys that look like bad boys but are just teddy bears when you get to know them lol

I'm not. The guy that I'm really, really attracted to, actually teaches Sunday school every weekend, and is a band geek [nothing offenseful meant. thats a term of endearment, trust me] and just soo not a bad boy.

my husband may look like a bad boy but he is really a rough tough cocoa puff. especially when it comes to me. i know that he would never hurt me physically or mentally and i know that he will never break my heart.

i ask myself this every time i have an argument with my hubby about being "allowed" out with my best friends for a drink( which is once in a blue moon) its some sort of caveman thing we have inbuilt in us i think......
