Does circumcision make your penis appear bigger and/or be harder? Why are women generally so turned off by the hood? Are their any sexual disadvantages to getting circumcized?

I don't think it really makes the penis look any bigger.

Circumcision would not make your penis any harder either.

Women aren't turned off by and uncircumcised man, maybe the problem is your personality or lack of hygiene?

If you choose to get circumcised, you will lose some of your sensitivity. Don't do it....

a) Circumcision won't make your penis appear any bigger or smaller. It removes the foreskin which technically is making it smaller in girth and possibly length if you have a long foreskin. But the reduction in size is so minute that it's virtually impossible to notice. The glans will be exposed all the time so that might make the head look bigger when soft, but since the foreskin retracts when erect it will still look exactly the same size.

b) Women in general are not turned off "the hood". Most men in the world are not circumcised, so worldwide having a foreskin is usually expected. But in the US the majority of boys (65%) are circumcised meaning that women are usually only familiar with that style. Some women think that a natural penis looks "weird" compared to a circumcised one. People in the states also buy into many stereotypes and misconceptions about the natural penis so they can be misguided in their opinion. If proper hygene is observed, a circumcised penis is not more healthy than a natural one.

c) The foreskin acts as a natural lubrication aid during intercourse making sex more pleasurable for both partners. Experienced women almost always prefer sex with an uncircumcised penis because it feels better (you can look that one up). Also, the foreskin has many nerve endings that are sensitive to pleasure, but are lost when you are circumcised. The head of a natural penis is also more sensitive because it's covered up when not in use. But as I said, some American or Jewish women are put off by an uncircumcised penis and won't try one. Also, if you don't practice proper hygene, you can trap oder under your foreskin and this would put any woman off oral sex.

Women in the US are turned off by uncircumcised penises because they are programmed to like what is socially acceptable where they live, which happens to be circumcision. In the same way men in other countries might find female circumcision attractive.

As a woman who lives in a non-circumcising country, I find circumcised penises a bit of a turn off, and I have come across one or two - it is a bit of a disappointment to say the least.

As a woman, in terms of the sexual experience, it feels better with an uncircumcised man, though with a condom you can't tell much difference obviously. I would rather give foreplay to an uncircumcised man.

Disadvantages... men who are circumcised tend to be a bit less sensitive.

Of course it doesn't make it look bigger. You are removing a lot of tissue, which means there is less mass, which means it will look smaller - though obviously the length doesn't alter, it might lose a bit in girth.

When circumsised, you lose an important part of the . When erect, they look nearly the same except uncut guys don't have an ugly circ scar and the glans does not become dry, keratinised and loose sensitivity. Women in nearly every country besides the USA are somewhat accustomed to seeing uncut men, so unless your American, this is really a non-issue (as it should be anyway...would you change your genitals for a woman?) I mentioned the disadvantages above. All the supposed "advantages" of circumcision are myths, but I'll save those for another time.

No, it doesnt make it look bigger or harder - you are REMOVING skin! Women generally AREN'T turned off by foreskin, only a minority and most of them are American because the US is the last developed country still doing this procedure regularly. Outside of the US, foreskin is the norm and circumsizion is rare.
There is some evidence to support the theory that because circumsizion removes the protective 'hood' then the head/helmet/glans becomes desensitized due to permamenent exposure, and hence resulting in reduced sexual pleasure

Cutting off something does not make it bigger. In fact, if too much skin is removed in circumcision, it can make the penis smaller since the penis needs some skin to expand during an erection:

There are some sexual disadvantages to getting circumcised; hence it has become less common over time. Below are the risks of circumcision.

You're not circumcised. Your foreskin is just working as it should, that's why it may look circumcised when erect. No study has found that circumcision makes your penis more sensitive, if fact, they've found the opposite. Circumcised guys usually don't have foreskin covering the head, unless they're cut really loose, then they might have just a little when soft.

And you have advantages by being uncircumcised, too, so don't worry about it. Your foreskin sounds like it works perfectly, nothing to worry about.

In a medical study, it was found that females are more likely to hit orgasm with an uncircumcised man:
http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html

The lubricated foreskin (on the inside... like your eyelids) slides up and down during sex and masturbation to stimulate the head (which is why you don't hear of uncircumcised guys needing lube to masturbate).

http://net.indra.com/~shredder/intact/anatomy/index.html

Studies have found that circumcision reduces sensitivity (this article also mentions how it has lost popularity in the USA in recent times):
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,285532,00.html

And despite being more sensitive, uncircumcised guys still last in the same six minute range (average) that circumcised guys do:
http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1743-6109.2005.00070.x

Makes masturbation more difficult:
http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06646.x

Which makes sense, that's how circumcision was promoted in the USA:
http://english.pravda.ru/science/health/27-03-2006/77873-circumcision-0

Increases erectile dysfunction rates:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=14979200&dopt=Abstract%7C

If too much skin is removed in circumcision, it can make the penis smaller since the penis needs some skin to expand during an erection:
http://drgreene.org/body.cfm?id=21&action=detail&ref=1125
http://www.altermd.com/Penis%20and%20Scrotal%20Surgery/buried_penis.htm

And ultimately, circumcision has become less common everywhere. If she ends up going through multiple relationships, chances are that you won't be the only uncircumcised one. Teach her how to use it (when the time comes) and how to enjoy it. The USA is the last developed nation to circumcise a large amount of newborns without medical or religious reasons, but even our rates have gone from almost 90% back in the 1970s to as low as 14% in some states in the past few years. Hi Friend,

As far as I know, the procedure only pulls back the skin from the front of the penis, and exposes the "head", in cases where the penile skin covers the head to an extent where urination or other penile functions may be painful.

It does not for sure change the size of the penis...maybe yes visually since the head is visible, it may feel or seem to be bigger...

However if you want further details just hit this page...

All the best.....

It may appear bigger when flaccid. Both appear the same when erect. Most women don't care either way, but uncircumcized is less common so they may just need to get used to it. There are no disadvantages, but uncircumcized men have said they are more sensative.
