I went kicking and screaming into the cell phone age but now can't think of being without it when I am away from home.
Had that proven to me two years ago when a guy broad sided me and I had to call 911 and my insurance company and my daughter and my job.
Payphones are a thing of the past in my area!

yes, I do. I have raised 7 children but the last 3 have been the most caring and loving of them all. I tend to listen quite intently to these last three because they have offered me so much advice, some good, some bad but for the most part their ideas worked. my daughter is very good about trying new things and she is better at talking me into trying new ideas etc but my twin boys have also done similar things-I find most of the time they are right and because I do I make sure I tell them this too that I took their advice and it worked. They will love you for the praise and the large pat on the back.

My daughter told me to get a cell phone, too, for emergencies.
I'm glad I did. I also got a digital camera. Glad I did that too.
I'm not crazy about the DVD player. I still use my VCR.
My kids are more computer savvy than I am, but I learned, to
use mine.

Yes some times they do know best. I have been trying to talk my mom into doing something for a long time. She knows that it needs to be done but she is making all kinds of excuses not to do it. I can't say what it is here that we are working on. But I can say that it is bugging me so bad that she is dragging her feet on this thing. It is very important that she does it and as soon as possible to.

My husband and I have been putting it off too. My reasoning was that I didn't always want to be accessible. I feel sorry for some of the young people who have one pasted to their ear wherever they go. It's almost like they can't function on their own without input from others.
Like you, we feel because of our age and circumstance ,we should at least have one in our car for emergencies.

Hmmmm. I STILL don't have a cell phone. But then I can't afford to run a car, so where would I be to need it for an emergency?

rightly said. they are more practcal than us.they r concerned about us in their own way.yes now they r using all the modern technology to the maximum. my daughter taught me how to use the comp. i was little bit hesitating but she insisted that i should learn. now it is so easy to chat with my kids everyday. my son bought me a cell phone &showed me the importance of carrying it where ever i go & it has saved me so many times.when i retired he told me to invest the money in real estate. we bought an apartment in our natuve city where rental value is more . now we r getting a rent through which we are able to live lavishly in this village.

Yes, sometimes kids do say the darnest things. And, it ends up they are right!! I work with alot of younger kids, and I must try to analyze things too much, because they will walk up with a simple solution. I listen, and I appreciate them. It is that respect we all deserve.

I listen to good advice too, sometimes it is hard to take it from the know it all generation. My son built my computer and he is the one I go to for tips on making this thing do what I want it to.
