What religion was John Travolta before 1975 (before he got into scientology)...?

How sure are you that he was Cathloic? Where did you hear that?

It gets kindof hard to define with religions unless someone has a direct quote from that person. According to his online biography his family was Catholic which I guess is why they claim him. He left home at 16 and I dont see anything about him being attending catholic from 1970 to 1990 (I get the 1990 date from scientology-lies.com John Travolta "A world-famous actor who's been a Scientologist since the late 1980's")

Id like to know if anyone has a quote from him about him about being catholic or a quote about him quitting catholic. Scientology doesnt demand quitting. Travolta said you can be a Catholic, Protestant, or Baptist and a Scientologist at the same time (Oprah Winfrey show, Nov. ‘96) so apparently he didnt feel it would be a problem but I dont see him saying he was catholic.
Someone can be into scientology without becoming a scientologist. They are non-denominational and believe in God. According to the anti-scientologist sites 53% of scientology is christian so apparently most of them dont change their affiliation. But again I dont know if Travolta ever said he was Catholic.

I guess the best thing would be to find out what he put on forums like the census.
By the way, there is a great song spoof called "Living like John Travolta" done to the tune of Living la Vida Loca.
