I live in New Orleans. There are a lot of latin American immigrant workers here to rebuild the city. Truth be told, the city wouldn't be coming along as fast as it is without them. This city NEEDS them.
Is it better to allow them to work here unmolested because we need the skilled labor or should we enforce the law regardless of the economic consequences?
If we change the law to allow them to work for up to three years, we could tax their earnings. If they contribute taxes for the next three years, they are certainly contributing more to the community then the native-born, chronically unemployed, chronically homeless people currently shacking up under the I-10...Why shouldn't we encourage these people to immigrate here?
