Are there any tricks for getting the glue out of the carpet?? And also, other than airing out the house, is there anything else I can do to get the smell out?? It's making my eyes water, and my throat and lungs hurt..

glue is still wet, and it will not be dry for 4 hours. We have put a whole box of baking soda on it to help it soak up. and are airing the house out.

I'm looking for something to help us that may already be in the house that will not make fumes worse, and will not cause additional damage to the carpet, as we rent. I cannot leave the house due to weather, and it's late anyway and most places are closed.

Thank you if you can help.

Moving quickly with soap and water is about the only way. How much got on the carpet?

Okay, the smell and irritation come from the MEK (Methly Ethyl Ketone)... THOROUGHLY ventilate your home !! MEK can cause death if you breathe it in !!

For the carpet... You're pretty well stuck... it will MELT many synthetic carpets. I suppose the baking-soda MAY absorb some of the glue... then start using warm water to gently scrub the stuff up.

Sorry I can't find more.
