Since everyone has their own definition...I think that if you honestly answer these questions you will find your answer.
Maybe your purpose in life will define who you are.
Are you doing in your life what you want to?
Are you experiencing a sense of connection and purpose?
Are you living each day with passion and enthusiasm?
Are you truly, honestly living up to your potential?

Maybe, we can find it by the help of other or,our obsession in life. We even can find it through our talent. Anyway, i'm sure that everyone in the world have at least one purpose. If what we do is enjoyable for us (in the good way) and useful for people around us, it can be our purpose in life. Every single human in the world have different purposes. One thing that is the same is just purpose to live and to die.

I think we all have a purpose in life....and I don't think it has to be one purpose.....it's everchanging because we are, as humans everchanging. One may set out to have a specific goal/purpose, and they may achieve that, but they also may achieve many others along the way. We are all connected and touch other peoples lives on a daily basis, and your purpose may be something you never know. You could, say inadvertently save the life of someone you don't know by simply acknowledging them when they may have been feeling lonely in this big old world. Your behavior may have changed their attitude when earlier they were contemplating suicide.......and you'll never know.
I wouldn't waste time trying to figure it out, just be a good person.

I wish I knew. I have just gone through life doing the best that I could with the health, knowledge and skills that I have from studying, practice or luck. I believe that all anybody can do is the best that they can. It would be nice to know that I had a purpose in life. Maybe then I would know if I passed or failed.

Spend some time watching your feelings. Reflect on what has made you feel good and bad. Some would call this meditating.
What do you think about?
Even the non-religious will admit that the deepest parts within them cry out to be in harmony with the ego self.
Make decisions that match the calling of your inner being. You are on the leading edge of thought and you are creating your purpose each moment. Your purpose was not created by someone else.
If you are ever confused about what to do, just ask yourself how you want to feel. Then let specific answers drift your way.
My purpose is to experience freedom, growth, and joy. I want to feel good. I want to be uplifting to others. I want to experience this physical world while I am here with great appreciation and exuberance.
I want to use the tools of this culture to explore and invent. I like chemistry, physics, engineering, and medicine. I also love art for the sake of expressing my "inner being".
It all began with how I wanted to feel...... thoughts and feelings snowball and blend with similar thoughts and feelings because like attracts like.
I want to attract awesome and exciting things in this dimension.
I think you do to!

Finding the purpose of one's life takes time to discover. It cannot be found by just asking a simple question. It begins with finding the self, the entity within each of us that connects us all and separates us from one another. Many believe to give up all desire is to find the self, but is this not a desire unto itself? Your experiences in life will guide you to an understanding of what you were meant to do. I, myself, being inexperienced in the game of life, have yet to realize my potential as a human being.
A word to nudge you on your way:
"It is not until you lose everything that you are free to do anything"

Well, for me to answer this I am going to have to do it from a Christian perspective, because that is how I became to found out my purpose in life.
I never thought teaching would be what I was to do, but when I began in the martial arts, a friend suckered me into helping with the white belt beginners class. Within months I felt comfortable. Years later I now operate my own school. My students competed in October, first time, and 10 competitors, and 12 metals. They all placed. 7 Gold, 4 Silver, one Bronze.
In life, when I ran away from any type of teaching for jobs, I struggled with faith, money, and stress. Though my current income base job isn't teaching, I am going to college to earn my degree. I can work to become a trainer in my current job. Training / teaching doesnt' have to be in a classroom school setting.
Because I continue to put God first in my life, he is directing the path for me. I feel I am finally contributing to the community in which I live and teach.

The name Jehovah means "purposer". He had a purpose when he made the earth and created humankind. Man had the prospect of living forever on a paradise earth and see the earth populated with their perfect offspring. From creation, we can see how generous he was.
His purpose has not changed. He still plans to see the earth become a paradise for obedient mankind. Psalm 37:9-12. He will do this by means of the Kingdom Jesus taught us to pray for. Matther 6:9-10.
My purpose in life is to be obedient to his Sovereignty and life in that righteous new world.
The name Jehovah means "purposer". That means he can do whatever is necessary to accomplish his purpose and he can do whatever is necessary for mankind; i.e.: a counselor, a guide, a comforter, executioner of the wicked, etc.

For years, I struggled to answer this very question for myself. For years, I had suffered through much abuse as a child. There were many times in my life that I thought it wasn't worth it to live on. But then I would remember that if I were to end my life now, all the pain and suffering I went through would've been for nothing. There must be some reason God made me go through so much. There must be a reason why he gave me so many gifts and then made me walk through the flames of Hell to use them. It was then that I knew I was not meant to have a normal life. Most people are meant to live simple lives with their families and have simple jobs. Some are meant to be the popular ones who grow up to be rich and famous. But I knew I would never be either of those people. No, I was meant a different type of person. The person who even though society outcasted for many years, uses his great gifts to help humanity evolve. It was this realization of my destiny that another realization came to me. The individual person could live in one of two ways. He could either live for himself and hoard his wealth and values, or he could live and work for the good of the people. It is not just my destiny to help others. It is the purpose of all people. Our purpose to life is to continue evolution of our race. One day, thousands of generations from now, we will have reached the peak of our evolution. Only then, will our true destiny as a race be unfolded. Until then, we must all work together to ensure the continuing evolution of our race in the societal sense, the physical sense, and the psychological sense. Most of us are meant only to make small steps towards that goal. Some of us are meant to make large leaps towards it. Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Ghangis Khan, Moses, Jesus, Mohammed, Einstein, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Jefforson, George Washington, John Addams, Harry Truman, Itzac Rubin, Bill Clinton, and a few hundred more men and women throughout history realized their destiny to change the world and did not cower away. They stood tall, faced their fears, and succeeded in bringing humanity just that much closer to our peak. Everyone has a part to play in this journey. Finding your role is just the beginning. You must think of what gifts were given to you. Are you a mathmatician? Or perhaps a Tactician? Maybe an athlete? Once you have realized your gifts and powers, you must then ask yourself, "How can I use these talents for the better good of humanity?" Only once this is answered can you proceed onward. You must then place yourself onto the path that leads you to using your gifts for the greater good of the people. Perhaps your place is politics or in a company. Perhaps you are meant to be the noble farmer. After all, how could humanity evolve without food? Perhaps your path is that of a soldier, protecting your people from all that threatens its safety? Whatever the path, only you can decide it. Once you have decided, you cannot allow yourself to leave the path. Remember, your path doesn't necessarily coincide with happiness. Many times people are meant to do things that don't make them happy but help humanity. The path you choose may lead to happiness or may not. But in either case, it will take you years if not decades to accomplish your purpose in life. Only once you have completed the task set by destiny can you live for yourself.

A general purpose applicable for all is "Love God completely, love colleague as Self, love as Christ Jesus, Truth, loves, and ascend in the Light of God as have Enoch, Elijah, Jesus, and other Saints have done."
Some help can be gleaned from reading others who've gone before you with this problem. "Expecting Adam," Martha Beck, "Men in White Apparel" and "Watch Your Dreams," Ann Ree Colton, "Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet, and "Man, Master of His Destiny," O. M. Aivanhov.
"Purpose" imports "sacred labor." What one may love as labor of love, what one may do with joy, enthusiasm, etc., serving God within one's fellow man.
"Know thyself" with regard to your interests, etc. is valid and valuable.
kind regards,
j.
