have you ever heard of anyone who never came out because of their religious background?

its horrible that religion makes people act straight when really they are gay. a lot of them get married and end up cheating on their wifes/husbands with someone of the same sex.

There is a theory that religion actually helps pass on the gay gene. It goes like this.

If it weren't for religion people who were gay would come out and would be less likely to reproduce and pass on the gay gene. Gays who are religious get married, have children, and pass on the gene.

Not sure I agree with it, but it's interesting.

A lot of people are afraid to come out for that reason, but you have to learn to be confident and not care what people say and pray that god leads you the right way. You have to do what makes you happy and that is being yourself. Always remember to be strong and lean on people like yourself. Never feel bad for being you!

Yes. But I do know people who have even though they are very religious. They see it as a sin and that's amazing, because they can admit to something like that and see it as wrong. But because those people don't take part in anything, makes you wonder if they really are truly.

This happens all the time where I am from and also one of the main reasons why I didn't come out until I got tired of living a lie and was really miserable then. Good luck in your situation if your having that problem.

alot more because of social acceptance reasons, i haven't seen any specific people for religious reason but im sure that happens a lot. im 15, a good friend of mine is 19, his little bro is 17 and we just found that he has a second myspace no one knew about where admits to being bi-sexual. when we asked him, he said strait up everyone would hate him if they knew... nicest guy ever so i felt bad for him but what can you do right?

You're looking at him! If it weren't for some other complications, I would glady...long story...cannot get in to it on here...etc...

Anyway, I don't know which BG you are coming from, you I know that almost every verse quoted from the Bible about homosexuality is taken out of context from the original texts. If you need help through scripture, email me or IM me! Would be glad to help!

Yes I do and it is very sad. I believe you need to be comfortable with yourself and everything else will fall into place. If you lose people, family, or friends because of it then those people do not truly love you, or they need to let it soak in. Give them time and everything will work itself out. Don't live your life in a box.

Yeah, unfortunately my family is Irish catholic, so we're about as conservative as you get, I knew a kid at sunday school who everybody knew was gay, his parents disowned him when he left for college and came out at thanksgiving the next year.....it was so sad that jesus taught to accept your fellow man (white, black, orange, muslim, jewish, protestant, gay, straight) these people obviously accept and worship jesus as a man rather than his teachings.....there are unfortunately conservative nuts in every sect....

yes, but they can always change their religion. religion doesn't define a person anyways. i'd also say a main value of most religions is honesty...... and it is NOT a sin. people are people are people. anyone who thinks heterosexuals are sinners are intolerant and don't think for themselves but just repeat whatever their religion says
