Most women in the US are NOT gold-diggers... None of us is named HEATHER MILLS here... all kidding aside... a good percentage of the work force in the USA IS women and NOT MEN.... there are now more women working then men. I worked for 35 YEARS at the same BORING government job.. Yes, there ARE some women in the US who could be classified as gold diggers, but VERY FEW........ some men may THINK their women turned into gold diggers because they get divorced and the women take them to court and a LOT of men (not ALL) in this country do NOT think they should have to pay CHILD SUPPORT.... it's THEIR CHILDREN TOO you know.. the wife didn't sit and create them all by herself. .... But generally, the women of the USA are hard working WAGE EARNING.. people.. and NOT gold-diggers.

Well, they are in a lot of countries really. It's the end game of capitalism, everything comes down to money. In many ways it is the fault of men who think they can compete with money to buy love attention and affection. Nonsense of course, you cannot buy a woman's love, only her complete and utter contempt. Hence all those poor divorced guys who cannot understand why they've been dumped for some stud after years of working 60 hours a week to give her everything she needs. Dummies !! No, it hasn't happened to me by the way.

the funny thing is its only the woman you READ in magazines that are gold diggers. And men can be the same way sometimes, I mean when you get a girl pregnent and your dating how many fathers walk out with the "i'm not ready for a kid" excuse. But most woman in the US are just fine with a serious relationship.

I assume you put most in capital letters to make your question seem as if it isn't stereotypical, but even with MOST in the question it is still stereotypical. If thats not why you did that then oh well.
That is not true.
And like a lot of people have already said....Have you ever even been to the U.S. before?

Wow that's too bad that's your opinion of women in the US.
Then again, society has trained us that to be happy you have to 'own' every little thing out there and be skinny too!
So all in all I think you can thank the advertising industry for a lot of the influences....psst it's run by men.

Most woman are not golddigers. I would ask why are you surrounding yourself with them. I ask do you flaunt your weath? If you flaunt it, then you will get woman who know that and use it. Flaunting could be by showing the money itself or talking about it. Are you looking in the wrong places?
Just a thought but look inside first. What are you doing to attract those type of woman?

Where did the statistics on that come from? I didn't realize there'd been a study.
I will say this, though. If you don't make enough money to support a family, no woman should marry you. She doesn't need a man to support. That doesn't make her a gold-digger. It just means she's not stupid.

SOME women in the us are golddiggers. Not MOST. and in my opinion it is only because it is the American dream and it is what is told to many american women to look for a good man with money.

I agree with Hall and Oates. I have seen more of my fair share of women who were either gold diggers or looking for a daddy for their illegitimate children, and they looked to me to fill the bill.
