If you look at words describing events in the middle-east you will see that people are misled . for example:

liberation of Iraq = anarchy and ethnic cleansing
peace = denying Palastinians any rights
democracy in the Arab world = Islamists taking power
democracy in Israel = 2 million Arabs are not represented by the 30% they should have in the government and the Knesset .
Islam = an enemy of the west
settlers = squatters who keep putting their hands on the Arab lands .
Palastinians attacking Israel = terrorists
Israel attacking Palastinians = self-defence

the worst terminology i can think of is "the war on terror"
and i'll break it down: If terrorism=political violance, then it's a war on political voilance...War too=political violance....thus War= terrorism...and the war on terror = "the war on war"....it's like trying to destroy the sun by burning it.

Fishguy needs to redo 6th grade history.

It is true that because of the media depictions, the middle east= hell on earth. And islam=terrorism.. It's very sad that people are so poorly educated on the region. The truth is the middle east has a long history of religous and tribal conflicts. For the most part there is no right or wrong both sides have valid points here. And Islam for the most part is a very peaceful religion. It's just those few who put and extreme spin on the religion for personal gains. These guys give the religion a bad rep.

I think that the real problem in the Middle East is that our American soldiers are there. The fact that the United States Government has taken it into their hands to send young men and women over there to die saddens me.

True enough, the media is controlled and certain terminology is used to make us believe what they want us to believe.

However, an intelligent mind can see past the "fixed" terminology and make their own conclusion about the situation in the Middle East.

Terminology only reflects the problem, it's not the essence of the problem. The essence of the problem is that you have two irreconcilable people claiming the same lousy piece of arid land.
