I think in order to answer this question, you must answer more about your life, what is going on, how long you have been depressed, etc.

Because you are focused on your unhappiness. Do you have your health? Are you in school? Are you in a job which pays for you to live comfortably?
You have a computer which lets me know that you have enough to take care of your entertainment needs and spiritual needs.
Children starving in Kenya have the right to say that they are "unhappy". You are self-centered. Pray for others less fortunate than others. Go for a walk. Thank your mother for being so kind to you when you needed it. Unhappiness is a state of mind. Even the poorest person can feel happiness in moments. Cultivate an attitude of gratitude. Realize that you are in America and probably okay by 3rd world standards. If you aren't then realize that you are communicating on the world wide web and that you could probably meet someone who could help you. Try www.kasamba.com to reach a therapist or a preacher for less than $2.00. God bless and remember that happiness is based upon perception. If you are hungry and alone and abandoned then you have my prayers but if you aren't then I pray that God opens your eyes to see all of your benefits.

Grey. If your really unhappy you know the reason why. You probably just don't want to admit to it or talk about it. So you often just pass through life hoping you'll meet someone who can fix it for you or at least notice it. Unfortunately, you will waste so much of your precious life before realizing the only person who was really capable of fixing it was the same person you've seen in the mirror your entire life. The same person who noticed it. Hope that helps. Good luck! , )

Everyone is unhappy to one degree or another. Your present mood may be perfectly normal for you. The trick for me is not taking myself too seriously. Life is a comedy, not a tragedy. So go ahead, give us a big smile. I once read that anyone who is happy here and now is simply unaware of what's going down. Makes me want to cry.

You might be depressed. It would be good to get some type of counseling. There is medications that can balance the physical disorder. Don't try to self medicate with street drugs. Many regulars at the psychiatric hospitals try to do just that. It doesn't work. You may be just feeling sorry for yourself. Is your family getting down on you for not living up to their expectations, maybe you hate your job, no relationship or one that isn't working out. There could be millions of reasons why you aren't happy. Come to think of it maybe I shouldn't be happy, I have a lot of crap going on in my life but I am pretty happy in spite of it all. Good luck.

It may be that you have legitimate reasons to be unhappy with your situation, whatever that may be. If you cannot trace your unhappiness to specific situations, perhaps you might need counseling from a professional therapist who can help you to discover what is really bothering you. Good luck!

Because you've got so many flipping answers and you'll now have to spend the next 73 years reading them all.
Of course, none of them make any sense at all, but what did you expect from a bunch of unemployed, illiterate old age pensioners with bad breath and hairy ears?

Because your parents abandoned you at an early age. You've been in and out of prison most of your life. You have no job, no money, no honey. You're being evicted cause you can't pay the rent....and you have an ingrown toenail!
