because the truth sometimes hurts other people and it could be something they dont want to hear. maybe because if you tell people the truth its letting them in. people may judge you for the truth and it would just be easier to tell a lie. lies can hurt too though. you cant live a lie forever and when people find out you've been lying to them its never good. you end up making things more complicated than if you had just told the truth in the first place.

It would seem to me that hearing the obstetrician say, truthfully, "It's a girl" would not be painful, and that the lie from the same throat, in the same circumstance, "it's a huge cockroach!" would be painful to hear.
And I think the obstetrician, even with a VERY weird sense of humor, would have trouble telling that lie.
Now that I've demolished some parts of your question, let's deal with the rest of it.
Some truths hurt? When and where? Truths and lies are impotent out of some context. 2 = 3 is a lie. Does it hurt? Does it feel good? No, neither. Without a context, that lie just . . . sits there.
So it is also with telling truths or lies. In some contexts, yes, it is easier to lie than to tell truth; in other contexts, the other way 'round.
So, what is the context in which your question arises as an honest question, where it is true that 'the truth is always more painful than the lie' and 'a lie is easier to tell than the truth'?
That supplied, you may be able to get some useful answers here.
Not from me, of course, I'm far too silly.

Because if the truth was good then there would be no need to lie about it....
We only lie about something to make it seem better, or to hold it in a better light....
Therefore the truth is always worse than the lie, because when the truth is sweet there are no lies!

Well when the truth is directed on yourself it hurts because you never thought of yourself that way or no body felt it was their duty to tell me the truth. But I suppose since you know how you feel if someone told you the truth than it is harder to tell. Normally the truth is made for a correction of a wrong.
A white lie is told to save someone from an embarrassing or threatful situation. And a black lie is to deceive a person that is doing something either ethically or morally wrong. The white lie is easier to tell than the black lie.

The truth is never more painful than a lie in the long run. Short term maybe. Here is the question you need to ask yourself.
How do you want to live your life?
If you can't or choose to be not honest with yourself, then you are living a lie. Plus it creates all kinds of. baggage you then carry with you

It isn't.
I almost always find the truth easiest to tell. The only time a lie is easier to tell is if the truth will: show I made a mistake, hurt the other person's feelings, or make me vulnerable.

A lie can be more painful than the truth depending on what is said and from whom it is spoken.
It is easier to tell a lie because no one wants to explain and be in trouble.

The truth is initially more painful because people lie to lessen the pain. However, when we find out the real truth, and that someone lied- it just it makes it that much more worse.
Don't lie. It's a waste of time, and only makes things more complicated and can ruin the closest relationships.

A lie may be easier to tell, but it is much more painful to live with. Ultimately " the truth will set you free" is true. Telling a lie will reveal your true nature. No permanent gain is ever achieved by lying. In the end the only one ever deceived by lying is the liar himself.

Because the truth usually hurts the person you are telling it too. But a lie can save their feelings by bending the truth to make it easier to listen to and comprehend.
