I am a women. Just wanted to know why a women has the choice of having a baby or killing it but a man has no choice? Why if she choses to keep it he has to pay child support or if she choses to kill it he can do nothing about it. It is just as much his baby as it is hers and he should get just as much choice as her.

If he wants it and she dosn't then he can take it after birth if he bolts then there is adoption.

Because there is no proof without a DNA test that the child is even his, its his word against hers and she has the proof that the baby is hers.

If a man chooses to have sex with a woman knowing that she may get pregnant (which is a possibility unless she has a hystorectomy or some other problem that deffinitly takes away fertility) and she becomes pregnant then he should have to care for and pay for the child just as the mother should because he knew a baby could happen.

If a man who is fixed and is honest about that with the woman and lets her know he wants no kids and she understands that and she becomes pregnant then I don't think the man should be held responsible but the man should still be a man about it and accept responsibility because he still created a life.

If both people didn't want a baby but one or the other changes their mind during the pregnancy then the baby should be with the person who decided they wanted the baby and the other person should be given an option to be a part of the babies life.

As for the abortion issue, it is a womans body and the man even though he may have to pay support that is no where near as bad as the hell the woman would go through emotionally and physically if she had to kill a baby just because the man didn't want to pay support. I do think though that if the man wants the child he should be able to raise the child but again it is still affecting the womans body not his and she is still the one most affected by the decision either way physically and emotionally and mentally. Basically it comes down to Her body her choice. If men ever give birth then they can have a say but as long as it effects the woman by changing her body and her having to go through the pain and emotions and hormonal changes and health problems then it will be her choice.

This is a big reason why men and woman should be honest with each other in every relationship about how they would feel about a pregnancy and have an agreement before having sex. Use protection and do what they can to prevent pregnancy if they don't want it to happen but be in agreement on how to handle it in case it does happen.

Basically the baby is hers thru and thru, the baby is in her body for 9months, her body giving it life, her body going thru physical and mental changes. When a man is ready to carry the baby inside his body he will than have a choice as well rather to have a baby or not have a baby.

But like others would say it takes two to tango, the man should if he didn't want children protect himself no matter what and the woman if she doesn't want children should protect herself. It's a two street in making a baby or not making a baby.

And yes accidents do happen and they should both discuss the options but majority of the time the guy runs after it's decided to keep the baby so yes he should be taken in for child support because he helped make the decision to keep the baby by assuring her he'll be there.

Because it's her body. She gets to decide what operations she has on it, and no one can force her to have an abortion, or to carry a pregnancy to term.

If they could come up with an artificial womb that could have a fetus transferred into it, I'd be all for a father saying that he wants the baby and letting the mother sign off all of her rights. But so long as it's the woman who has to get poked and prodded with needles, have her hormones go haywire, watch her body turn into something she no longer has any control over, and then spend hours in agony for a baby she doesn't want? Then she gets to choose.

Good question. But, he just doesn't have a choice because it is her body... Her life as well, even if he does pay child support, she will be there with that baby 24/7~

you're right... the guy should have say in what happens, but thats just not how things work out... i am a women to but i feel the same way... i guess a lot of women feel that because they are the ones carrying the baby they are the ones that get to make the decision... to me it's something that both people invloved need to sit down and come to a mutual agreement on

The baby is only considered to be the womens while it is inside her. After that it's considered the mans as well. So basically they are saying it's the women's body the women is taking care of it so screw the man that helped it get into her, to be put in lamens terms lol.

because the woman has to go through the pregnancy as well as giving birth, men don't. women feel the pregnancy, giving birth and abortion and adoption much more then men ever will. it affects women on a more emotional level then it does with men.

My body, my choice. I'm the one who gets to go through labor, and I'm the one who's health is at risk. It's not nearly as common these days, but there still is a risk to having a baby.

I think the man should have the option of "Opting out" - eg. he can say "hey if you have the kid - fine.. but I am not paying for it"
this would hopefully stop some of the women who lie and say they are on birth control when they are not...plus really as it is the womans body she is the one who should take procautions so she doesnt get pregnant if she doesnt want to (not trust the guy)...

I am also a woman.. mom of 1 - then I had my tubes tied...
