I'm taking my wife and daughter (4 years old) to Chicago for a couple days of shopping in December. Most of the time is devoted to them (American Girl, Magnificent Mile, etc.), but we're going to ESPN Zone for lunch just a few hours before we leave. I need to make sure that I hold back enough cash for lunch, but the restaurant's website doesn't show any pricing except for games. Any ballpark figures for an entree and a couple of drinks between us? Thanks.

Because the numbers bear no relation to each other other than shock value. There are 68,000 troops in Afghanistan - and there are 2.7 million people in Chicago. In order for the ratios to have a bearing, over 5,717 Chicagoans have to snuff it this year. Also, we're just talking about troops, not civilians or enemy soldiers. This number would make more sense compared to the number of Chicago cops who died in the line of duty. And in the entire state of Illinois in 2012, a grand total of 2 have been lost. 2 too many, but nowhere close. Finally, tell me honestly - honestly, now - whether you would prefer to suddenly end up unarmed in the middle of Chicago, or the middle of Afghanistan? You can even have native clothing.
