Lets say West Virginia next week and Missouri loses to Oklshoma. Neither a reach.
Shouldn't the BCS game be West Virginia and Kansas
Besides W.V. the only other 1 loss teams will be Kansas and Ohio State. Kansas' only loss was to the #4 team in the nation while Ohio States only loss will be to Illinois, ranked #17
Or is Kansas completely out of the picture since they did not even win their division?

Kansas should not be in the BCS Title game as they will not win the Big 12. If Oklahoma were to beat Missouri again next week and West Virginia were to get upset by their rival the Pittsburgh Panthers, then that would leave Ohio State and undefeated Hawaii (provided they beat Washington, of course) as the only viable BCS Title Game contenders.
If both Missouri and West Virginia were to lose their remaining game, Ohio State would be the only 1-loss team from the so-called "major" conferences (well, actually the only 1-loss team from any conference, unless Hawaii were to lose, as the 2nd best champion from the non-BCS conferences is 2-loss BYU).
Kansas cannot be national champion, as a team that can't even win their own conference can hardly be argued to be the best in the country (which is why the playoff system I support would be limited to the champs of the 6 BCS conferences and the 2 best independent teams or non-BCS conference champs).

W.V. and Kansas would be my choice.... But the best bet would be to totally revamp the whole BCS system... Go with a 6 team playoff system with 3 play 6 and 4 playing 5 then winner of 3 and 6 playing 1 and the winner of 4 and 5 playing two and finally the last two winners playing for the title. Its only 5 games then over three weeks and it will be a money generator. Plus then anyone ranked under 6 can still get to a bowl game just not the BSC playoffs.

Kansas is out of the picture. Remember, no one thought they were very good even when they had no losses because they hadn't played any one. OSU's schedule might have been easier than in the past - but they still played a few teams in the top 25. Also, the later in the schedule you lose - the worse it is. Kansas lost their last game of the season against the only good team they played.

It does not matter if you do not win your division. Oklahoma lost the Big 12 title game some odd years ago and still made it to the National Title game.
But, with the way this year is going. You can not count out any 1 loss team getting into the National Title game.

Kansas is completely out of the picture...which is unfair.
It is as if this year was played out intentionally to get a playoff system...
Kansas will be shut out because of their lack of reputation..period.
If Mizzou loses to OU again..well. you can form your own story line but KU would still be sitting with one loss and would get passed over for the title game by a two loss team. If WVU loses against pitt....
Ohio State would go for sure if OU wins, if WVU loses to Pitt, who plays Ohio State? Probably LSU if they beat Tenn in the title game....what a shame...
Hawaii should be given a chance. Period.

I'm going to have to agree with islander Kansas is so out of the picture they can't even spell New Orleans right now. I hope Mizzou wins though cause I don't want any other teams in the game since Dixon went down and ruined Oregon's chances. College football is pretty much dead to me now.

The BCS is a bunch of horseshit! Only a real playoff using the top 8 teams will determine on the field who is the best Div. One college football team! Let the BCS crap pick the top 5 teams and let the coaches pick the other top 3! This will guarantee fairness!

Kansas is out of picture. Mizzouri if they play like today against Kansas they will beat OU. and WVU no question will beat Pitt.

Kansas is out of it. You have to look at not only who they lost to, but who they beat. If you use Sagarin's ratings, WVU's strength of schedule was 42nd in the country, Missouri's 47th, OSU 53rd, and Kansas was 101st.
