A dog fed chocolate may become sick or die, depending on how much chocolate the dog eats. Chocolate poisoning of dogs is more common than you might think, since dogs readily acquire a taste for chocolate when they eat the fragments of chocolate that people drop.
Chocolate contains theobromine, which increases urination and is toxic to the central nervous system and the heart muscle of dogs.
It would take the equivalent of about three chocolate bars to kill a 10-pound dog.

Chocolate is definitely not good for dogs---and they COULD die depending on how MUCH they might have eaten....I had a puppy once that got into a box of candy and ate quite a bit but all that happened was that ---well I had to replace 2 rugs and pads, IMMEDIATELY because they were absolutely covered... one end to the other.... (he got into the chocolate while I was at work.)... I found quite a "surprise" when I got home...poor sick dog.. but he was fine after a couple of days...but I sure would NOT recommend feeding it to any dog.

it depends on the dog, some dogs can handle a little chocolate and some dogs cant, it usually depends on how the chocolate u fed it is proportionate to the body, if its a small dog who ate a lot of chocolate, then it will probably get sick and there is a slight chance it will die

Chocolate is poison to a dog. The degree of poison depends on the dog's size. The bigger the dog, the more he can have but he really shouldn't have any. Dogs love, love, love chocolate so don't tease them with chocolate.

It depends on the type of the dog, the kind of chocolate, and the amount you give it. It will at least get sick, if it consumes more than a little bit. Either way, you shouldn't try it.

chocolate is toxic to dogs because of the chemical theobroma, which is the precursor to serotonin in humans. there body can not digest and excrete this chemical as well as humans. so chocolate is only toxic to dogs in large amounts. i don't think anyone has had a dog die from feeding chocolate to them. my dog has been around for 10+ years and he's a chocolate lover.

Large amounts will kill it, but smaller amounts will more than likely just create a belly ache, much like our food poisoning. I wouldn't suggest giving your dog chocolate, ever.
