In the adult book by the author of "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory", he said he kept a little notebook & jotted down his ideas.

You might be more a picture person. Try making a storyboard of your ideas, like a comic book or graphic novel. That may work better for you than words.

Another way is to speak it into a tape recorder or dictaphone & have a friend or someone transcribe it for you. Maybe that will make it easier.

Embroidery fan has the better idea. I am a published author and I use both notes and a tape recorder (the recorder more often). It allows you to "talk through" the story a lot like the story board, so you can line out the context and plot, make changes and later refine the story for writing.

Strunk's "Elements of Style" is online at New Free Books.

With regards to just getting it on paper... don't think about writing a book...

just use a word processor to get each scene or idea down one at a time... then see if you can sort them out.by cut and paste. Before you know it yuu will be editing and adding stuff here and there. It will start taking shape over time.

I KNOW WHEN I WRITE AND GET IDEAS WHILE DRIVING AROUND, I HAVE BECOME DEPENDANT UPON A SMALL RECORDER. THIS WAY I CAN DOWN LOAD THOUGHTS LATER
