I was married for 10 years, and I never went to the bethroom in front of her. If I had to just pee, it wasn't that big of a deal, but the other, no way!

I'm not sure about other married couples but we've been married 13 years and we've come to the point we're not embarrassed about anything anymore. In your particular question, I believe it all started when he used to shout out questions about the Harry Potter books (which he's reading INSIDE the bathroom!) and I just grew tired of standing outside the door shouting out the answers. I just opened the door and voila! Now he can ask all the questions he want, I could do other things beside standing outside the bathroom door and could still hear him. Besides, we're both funny individuals everything's ok.

well I'm not married I'm single and when i do get married i don't like to see what you are doing that because i will be thinking about that every time i eat or making love to you. so shut the door when you are doing your business in bathroom. and like they said that when a man stand up to urine he must pick up the toilet seat and when he is finish than he has to put it down. that is the same way. so i respect you by doing that and you should respect me by closing the door.

Okay, this may sound weird, coming from a teen girl, but in my opinion, married couples that had already slept with each other shouldn't be embarrassed about seeing each other going to the toilet... ^_^
Good question, I thought about it before but never had the courage to ask...

Not one bit. My husband and I have been married for 6 years now, and ever since before we got married, we've used the bathroom in front of each other (except to poo, that's a private thing). We even take all of our showers together, everyday.

Some do. Some don't. It seems inevitable given the living arangements for some to see each other in the bathroom but it may be too much for some to handle the aroma.

well every couple is different~ A couple who has been together for a long time probably doesnt care if their partner is in the same room rushing to put on their make up or something.
then again, i have only been with my BF for a few months....we are still in the stage where we try to impress each other.

I don't think they do. Usually they live together for a while and get to know EVERYTHING about one another. Having said that, I always prefer my "private" time when in a relationship.

while you are in "newlywed" status you seem to care about everything.. smells, ie: farts, bad breath, etc.. seeing each other in toilet, etc..
but after a year or so goes by.. you'll let one rip and laugh about it.. and even have contests to see who can do it the loudest.. I guarantee this.. the awkwardness wears off fast..

Some do, some don't. My parents weren't like that but I've known plenty of people who would do such things rather often and not be embarrassed.
