All of my friends are married w/ children or have children, I have never experienced either one. I'm not a bad looking person, I'm just in no rush to get married and have children running all around me. Plus I don't want to end up marrying some guy just for the hell of it, so that people will get off my back about not being married or even being in a steady relationship at 28. What do ya'll think?

There is no such thing as an old maid.
You are able to fall in love and get married at any age. And while you generally shouldn't have kids past the age of 40, with IVF (in-vitro fertilization) you can have children at any age.
If you are happy with your life the way it is, don't let anyone else try to change it for you.
If you want children, being single with children is possible - and you don't need a man to have a child now a days. Besides the "traditional" way to have a baby, there's IVF or adoption.
When you're meant to, love will find you.
Just don't change your life to please others - you'll never be happy that way. You only get one shot at life - and considering the average human life span is a mere 80 years, it's a very short life. Live your life your way.

Nooooo rush. My friends are at the point now where about half are married and half are not. Some of the single ones are starting to freak out (we are in our mid to late 20s) but I am perfectly content not being married! I have listened a lot to some people you work with that are like 35 or 40 and I suggest you do the same. They will tell you that there is no rush you should enjoy being young and single! You have your whole life to be married!

I don't think anyone is an old maid at any age. You do not need a man or children to have arrived like some people seem to think. You are a very smart girl not to settle on the first man that came around. Too many of them do that. If you are satisfied with your life just tell them that. Tell them that you do not need a man to feel fulfilled and when you change your mind they will be the first to know. You are the only one that you need to make happy. Don't let them rush you or feel like you are doing wrong. You are doing what is right for you.

The term "old maid" is a hackneyed phrase that hasn't been used since the turn of the last century. It really has no application in today's age of women who pursue careers and have many choices other than marriage.
It isn't anyones business that you are not pursuing marriage. If they ask you about your lack of partners have a set of standard replies that politely lets them know it is not their concern. I know it may be hard but if it really bothers you it may help. If they ask why you aren't married or dating....try a simple "Why are you asking?", or any other innocuous question...this puts the monkey on their back to justify why they are prying. Or just laugh and make a joke out of it.

Those day women are waiting until their 30's to get married when they know they have the money to take care of themself if their husband live them or die And some are having babies with out a husband that is one reason they are waiting so late, First the education and then think about married someone or having kids 30's isn't that old to have a young one or 25

I have seen a 60 something year old woman single and partying and old maid was never in the vocabulary of anyone around her.

In Iran it would be about 12 years old. They can marry at nine. At 28 you would probably be stoned.
Thank god you live in nthe US. We just had twins at 42 (me) and 38 (wife)

Don't fret...you'll see you married freinds are going to be frumpy AND miserable and in search of another lover soon enough.

Never. You have the right to live your life the way you want to. Marriage and kids are not for everybody.
