how to download faster with dial up

Not much you can do to increase the speed really.
If you have firefox you can get an extension called "Fasterfox" witch will slightly increase your browsing speed.
Downloading no matter what will still be limited to anywhere from 28-32k.
You can get some Netzero High speed dial up plan, it will allow you to get internet a little faster as well but you gotta pay for it.

Unfortunately download speeds are restricted on dial-up telephone lines. It is not an expensive upgrade to move onto DSL. Call your phone company and see what they can do.

try using extra init strings for your modem
look up your modem here http://www.modemhelp.org/inits/
once you find the init go into device manager right click on modem and choose advanced tab and paste init string into box
other than that you can use a download manager e.g. IM but as far as speed it wont improve much but it will allow you to download broken downloads without starting over check these pages out for a few tweaks
