For basic cheap ones you can settle OLPC laptop or the Intel Classmate both of which will cost you about $200 but its features will be very limited.

You can also check ebay for cheap ones. Do not forget the 2nd hands and refurbished section but be wary on their reliability..the best is to go for a brand new ones. Check out USAnotebook.com, they have old stocks and selling it for low prices. These are old laptops refurbished by the company but might do what you wished for. It may not run Vista but you can load some old OS in it so it will run faster.

Also, check out your local stores, they might be offering bargains or sales to get rid of old stocks. But I dobt if they will be offering it $500 or below. No harm in checking. Visit bfads.net for great bargain deals.

relies upon on what your standards are. in case you ought to many times go on respected excursions or have a transfrable interest then needless to say a working laptop or laptop is the 1st selection. yet once you have a activity which does no longer require lots shifting then purchase a working laptop or laptop as that's lots greater value-effective to enhance a working laptop or laptop than a working laptop or laptop and besides you could't improve some good factors of a few laptops and that they are particularly intense priced additionally.

circuitcity is selling some very good laptops at the moment. i would suggest getting a laptop that has a Intel Core 2 Duo processor(highly recommend) and dont get a processor that is a pentium and especially not a celeron. make sure it has atleast 2 gigd of ram and a 100++ HD space. look at the link below. and if you can afford it, try getting a 2 yr warranty which will be helpful if you ever have a serilous problem

The best thing to do is, watch the Sunday paper for add inserts for budget computers. PRICE SHOP. Any NEW computer will have plenty. Watch for a laptop priced under $500, then buy it. Be warned! New computers will have " VISTA " . Try to find a computer with " XP ". Also, with preconfigd computers, mfg's only put the minimum RAM in them. At least double your RAM or even max your RAM, especially for VISTA. And burn your recovery C.D.'s immediately.
