With all due respect; a TUTU is pretty narrowly specific in the context of LIKE...and more especially in USE. I certainly wouldn't wear one, nor do I lust over those who do. My daughter often wore one through 10 years of Ballet.
Nothing at all wrong with DIY clothing,,,even a TUTU.
My grandmother who lived to be 92 had only one store bought dress throughout her entire life. She was buried in it. No disrespect to her certainly.
If you have the skills, the equipment, the desire, patterns, keep up with trendu or traditional; I assume you can create something as viable as anything off a rack.

Well my Daughter likes Tu Tu's, but of course she would she has been taking dance for 9..10 years now..there's allot of dance schools here....as far as DIY clothing,there are at least 4 colleges I can think of here in Raleigh NC within a 5 mile area and allot of the students go to thrift shops, flea markets.Good will stores...,to buy they're clothing....how do I know this?,,because I shop at them too. I think it's a Great Idea I wish you lots of luck....
