If you don't plan on playing nearly ANY up to date games then I think your fine with a Mac but if you don't plan on doing any work with multimedia you may be wasteing your money. Macs are fairly expensive computers and for simply web browsing spending the extra cash to buy a Macbook which is undoubtedly more expensive then a comparable PC might be less then the best idea.

I would definetly not get an apple. 1. Most schools, libraries, etc. have windows 2. apple is expensive 3. support sucks. I'd go with a dell or gateway and if it's just going to be for the internet, I'd get something that had a good wireless card and at least 1gb of ram and that would be good. Wal-mart had a great deal on a dell yesterday. That would've been perfect.

circuicity has some very decent laptops like toshiba , sony etcc. dell laptops are good too. since ur getting a laptop make sure it has 2 gigs of ram, atleast a 100 gig HD and a c2d processor. and also get atleast a 2 yr warranty since laptops sometimes start having heating issues.

In my opinion you would be over paying for simple Internet browsing with a Mac. Get a Dell pc.
