THE BEATLES were just a 1-hit wonder?

I grew up in the Beatles era. I liked most of their songs but if the Beatles only had a 1-hit wonder it wouldn't had made any difference to me since there were other groups I liked just as much.
I don't think the world today would be any different than it is now if the Beatles had only a 1-hit wonder because whatever influnece they had on the other bands of their time it has long since been overridden by the new styles of music of the 70's, 80's, 90's and until now.

The Beatles were great because the stayed just ahead of the music scene. They did not create where the music was going, they just managed to get there first. The music world would miss all their great songs if they weren't there, but it would still be the same today. While several of their songs were political in nature, they had very little if any impact on politics.

The beatles had an effect on other musicians, that's about it they didn't do anything fantastic for humanity or the world in general.
