Sadly, your computer has been infected with adware. Adware is any program which installs itself on a computer without the user's knowledge and/or consent. Unfortunately, many companies choose to advertise their products and services using adware. To fix the problem, you need to install an anti spyware security program - many people just lump together spyware and adware even though they are 2 distinctive entities. There are several free anti spyware programs. So, you don't need to spend a dime. By far the most popular are Spybot Search & Destroy, Lavasoft's Ad Aware and Microsoft's Windows Defender. Windows Defender is only available in Windows XP and Windows Vista. You can find all 3 programs at www.filehippo.com

Unlike antivirus programs, you can install more than 1 anti spyware program. In fact, it is advisable to install more than 1. What one program misses the other picks up. Install the programs and update them. Next, run a scan and be sure to quarantine all suspicious files.

BTW, there is a slim chance that you can manually remove the adware using the Control Panel. Start Menu > Control Panel > Add/ Remove Programs > look for an entry for "Zirius" > [Remove] >...etc.

I am not sure why McAfee failed to detect the adware.
