It looked like an alien spacecraft...er...I don't remember what it did but if anyone can provide a link to the article or more info on it, I'd really appreciate it!

Hi. Not your answer but I couldn't resist. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.cartoonstock.com/newscartoons/cartoonists/cga/lowres/cgan536l.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.cartoonstock.com/directory/c/cosmonauts_gifts.asp&h=400&w=362&sz=28&hl=en&start=11&um=1&tbnid=3a3KqGp3tnLKAM:&tbnh=124&tbnw=112&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dnasa%2Bspacecraft%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN
Most NASA craft look pretty much the same, an instrument package or landing craft attached to a booster rocket.

You may be referring to the Orion spacecraft, which will replace the space shuttle fleet.

The Orion spacecraft and their Ares I rockets are slated to begin the first crewed test flights as early as September 2013, about three years after the final planned flight of NASA’s space shuttles.

But the images I have seen don't look anything like the popular idea of what an alien spacecraft would look like.
