I think it does. i understand your question..they give like one pickle on everything unless you ask for extra pickles..so if you get extra service it is because you asked for it...i used to work for McDonalds years ago and the only reason I will eat there now is cause of my kids!!

No, I do not think that it serves as a metaphor. I think that it is just there to add flavor to the cheeseburger.

No, I do not think so.
The pickle is hard to find on the burger whereas McDonald's is everywhere and easy to find.
