I am a baseball fan but I enjoy the NFL & NBA even more. Baseball and hockey are alike for me in the fact that I can enjoy & appreciate both sports but they can be painfully boring and slow moving scoring wise to watch on TV. They are much more fun to take active part in or to watch in person. I usually start really watching and getting more into both of them come the playoffs. I like several teams including the Flyers, Red Wings, & Avalanche. I live in Indianapolis & I go watch some of the Indy Ice games because I don't live too far from Pepsi Coliseum where they play. Most people I know in the U.S. could care about hockey. It's kind of like soccer....we don't totally understand it & it's not big enough here on a nationwide scale so we just don't get into it. I think maybe if it was played in the spring or some other time when it could be more of a featured sport here it might get some more exposure. It's hard to compete with college football, basketball, & the NBA & NFL. Just can't stack up. The other main reason people don't care as much in the U.S. is because a lot of the best players are Canadian or Russian and are not from here so it's hard to be emotionally invested in the players. Obviously there are pockets of the U.S. where hockey is big but those are few & far between. I do know some people enjoy Olympic hockey though. Hope this helps you understand the American reasoning on hockey in general.

I follow Hockey, but it's my 3rd favorite sport. The NY Rangers are my team. Mike Gartner was my favorite player, then Mark Messier. I live in Florida now so I don't get to see hockey games anymore except rarely a Panthers game will come on TV, but I still play Fantasy Hockey on Yahoo, and have NEVER lost a Championship so far. (Defending it twice this year and crossing my fingers haha)

But yea Hockey is pretty much a northern thing. You get down south and it's all "Minor League Football" or "College Football" as they like to disguise it here. It's really sad, but what can you do? Rednecks will be rednecks. You'd think they would like hockey players since they usually share the same amount of teeth.

Edit: El Monstruo - Well when there's ICE on the equator and in Latin America, maybe you can play hockey too. Yeah you see A LOT of Russians and baseball right? Pretty racist too huh?

life is baseball, each little thing else is in basic terms element. For the objective of your question, i will provide it a attempt. a million. MLB (10) 2. college soccer (9) 3. NFL (9) 4. The Olympic video games (each 4 years) (9) 5. college Basketball (massively diverse from the NBA) (8) 6. song & container (7) 7. NHL (6) 8. WTA (6) 9. PGA (5) 10. NBA (i've got in no way loved the professional activity) (a million) Frankly i might quite watch a fence rust than watch an NBA activity!

NHL, AHL, ECHL. Used to follow the other leagues, too, but lost interest after the hockey wars in Cincinnati spoiled things and cost us our AHL team. Still love the Blues, watch the Jackets, will catch a minor league game on FSN or NHL Network, take in a Cyclones game.

So, yeah, hockey kicks ice!

I like the Boston Bruins. I recently started watching hockey and I'm understanding it a lot more than I used to. It seems like a pretty good sport, and its less repetative than basketball. I definitley wouldn't call myself a hockey fan, but I like going to games and watching them on TV. Baseball will always be my favorite sport though.
