Give the n and L values for the following:

a. 1s

b. 4d

n is the energy level. That is clearly 1 and 4

L is the sublevel, in this case s and d. I suppose you could convert that to numbers, then it would be 0 and 2.

a. n = 1, L = 0

b. n = 4, L = 2
