I am new to this country and so i was looking to find how pontiac is spelled.
is it spelled poniac with "T" silent ? or pontiac as is ?

Pontiac is pronounced with a "T" not being silent (Pon-tea-ack), so the "I" is silent and the name sounds like a "K" is in it, but it is not.
