tell him Santa is not real.

it might seem harsh, but so is lying to a child, making them believe that there is a magical person who will grant all their wishes.

tell the boy how the santa thing got started. (ya know, the actual St. Nick.....)

Oh, Angela, I cannot imagine the turmoil you had to have been going through. I'm so sorry about the loss of you precious baby boy. Gentle hugs. The Grim Reaper is a character depicting death, however, there are demons who appear like in the cloaks. Was it a dream? Don't know. Maybe if it was, subconsciously you knew something was wrong and your mind played out the scene. It's hard to tell, although it's odd that you were evidently up and about if you were going to make breakfast, which leads me to think that dreaming may not have been the cause, therefore, the only thing I would think would be demon. I honestly don't know that I can answer your question. As for feeling better about this happening again, to be honest, I think you'll be fearful with the next pregnancy regardless. But I think if you pray God's protection over yourself, your family, your baby, and home every day, it may help settle your fears somewhat, and of course, it's good to do that anyway.

explain that peace comes in many different ways. It may not be world peace. But for one person to believe whole heatedly in peace it could cause a chain reaction. It is like the pay it forward type of deal. Just one random act of kindness will cause a chain reaction. Tell the boy that it may take many Christmas wishes. It is an awful big order for Santa to fill alone. Also never give up on his wish. Good luck.

Yesterday I asked my 6 year old son to go ask for world peace and an end to poverty and hunger, and also to get him to name all "20" reindeer ;-)

Alas he wouldn't, he just scoffed at me.

I see the bigger problem being that this 5 year old kid has really been screwed up by some shocking parenting. They are happy to spread the myth of Santa and the big fib that it is, yet they have freely exposed this child with little grasp of the world to the horrors of it. I mean what 5 year old asks for world peace? Who exposes a 5 year old to truths like that, and yet still tells the lie that there is a Santa??

He is going to need lots and lots of therapy when older, poor kid.

It has taken a year for the boy to question why it didn't happen? Seriously? I think you are lying about the whole thing. I also think that, if by some strange twist you are not lying, you should tell the boy that Santa gives individual gifts. World peace would benefit everybody--including the bad kids who are not supposed to get anything--so he should blame the failure on them, not Santa.

I would say that some things are too big to get done that quickly. Tell him it was a really sweet thing for him to ask for, and that Santa is working on it. Then explain how we can all help by doing little things, then he'll feel like he can help and have a part in it.

Tell him that the President of the United States is in charge of world peace. He would only listen to Santa's plea. But, Santa is not in charge of world peace. Tell him to write MR> BUSH> a letter about it. :)

Easy! Tell him Santa is NOT real and tell your child how the world really works....but make it so a 5 year old can understand it

Santa is working on it. It's such a large present that it takes time to deliver♥

Be honest with the kid. Santa is not real. My parents never lied to me about these kind of things and look how I turned out! *smiles, slightly twitches, gives a thumbs up!*
