Hi, about a year and a half ago I recieved a Calandiva plant as a gift. At that point, it had blooms which eventually died. Once they were gone, the leaves died off and new growth began. The new growth has been noticably vine like. However, even though the new "vines" looked hearty however very sparse, I then noticed that the soil had a whitish appearance, and that some of the older leaves had some white spots on them. I went to clear out some old foliage that was laying in the pot, and the just by a slight touch the new growth just fell off. Two big long growths that were bright and green detached and fell off. I don't know if they were growing too heavy for itself or what. I'm desperately looking for some help with this plant. If anyone has any advice for me, it would be appreciated. By the way, I usually keep it on the dry side, as per the plants indicated instructions.

Thank you in advance.

Take the pieces that fell off and put them in a clear container of water. You should see roots in a week. Then you can pot it. The leaves will root on moist potting soil.

"White stuff" could be powdery mildew, caused by lack of air circulation. control with Spectracide 3 in 1 spray. Could also be mealy bugs - same spray. stinks, but works. ..

Have red, orange, yellow, and one unknown (no blooms yet) color, want cuttings? good luck

"Calandiva® needs the same care as a standard Kalanchoë: a sunny position kept moist and fed once every three weeks. In summer, it will also thrive in the garden or in large pots/containers on a sunny balcony or patio. The plant flowers for at least six weeks and will flower even longer when planted outside."
