Why did you pick Abe? Just wondering. I would say Teddy Roosevelt. He was a big Progressive who was tough but understanding, "Speak softly and carry a big stick". He put into play acts that made wildlife parks and nature reserves, he was for the people and not for the parties, and he was a very likeable guy. He fought in the Spanish American War giving him that military background, that he was courageous when he led the Roughriders on a charge during a key battle. Abe was a good choice too, he had to deal with the Civil War and did a great job as President when in the only time in history, they US was split into 2 countries.

Theodore Roosevelt.

Teddy's story is a fascinating one. He's an absolute genius who had a library of over 20,000 books that he had read by the time he became president. He is known to have read one to two books a day and lifting weights daily. He also personally responded to all those who sent him letters as President. By the way, he is America's youngest ever president. He graduated first in his Harvard class and published a book his senior year which is still considered the best book over made on the naval warfare of the War of 1812.
A total outdoorsman, he basically single handedly started the national park system. He also made a daring charge with his infamous Rough Riders in the Spanish-American War.

When running for election as a third party participant, not only was he the most successful ever, but he had quite an adventure on the campaign trail. Before one of his speeches, an assassination attempt left him with a bullet in the chest, but he continued for another hour and half talking before he finally finishes and goes to the hospital.

George Washington. He was a Revolutionary War general who led the colonies to freedom from England, and he did an outstanding job establishing the United States as our first president. He had many policies that made this country work, such as his rule to keep our nose out of foreign issues. I doubt any other person could have kept this country together the way he did. He set an unbeatable precedent.

I am going with Thomas Jefferson, he made the Louisiana purchase and sent Lewis & Clark on their journey. Was a believer in states rights and played such an important part in laying the foundation for our constitution. A visionary in my opinion.

"WHO is YOUR favorite U.S. president in all of the history of the U.S. and why?"

Not only was Abraham Lincoln fully literate, he wrote in complete and gramatically correct sentences too. Where he really excelled was in his position as Commander-in-Chief. I am also of the opinion that a great wartime leader never lets the military make its own policy, but constantly prods, challenges, and gives the military direction.

I'm with you on Lincoln. The only guy to stand up to a nationally accepted norm and fight it to the death.
