Because I am taking the seeds out of jalapeno peppers. It's not a good idea to do this bare-handed.
Oh, by the way, while I have the gloves on, turn your head and cough. This may burn a little. I've been handling peppers.

LOL, your question made me laugh. I am terrified of those hideous bugs. But honestly, I feel like wearing rubber gloves are the same as just killing them with one sheet of kleenex. Still gross and icky. I would get an old magazine I don't need and kill it with that. Once its dead, I would get gloves and a load of tissue to clean up the dead bug... sometimes... or I'll yell for someone in the house to clean it up. :p But don't worry, you're not alone on the "don't wanna touch bugs" club. :)
