Depends on the terms of the contract, but generally no. Other drivers would not be insured and should not be driving.

Technically yes, they are physically able to drive the vehicle if you let them. However, legally, they wouldn't be allowed to. More to the point, if your friend were to get into an accident you would still be liable for any and all damages to the vehicle depending on the situation.

Additionally, any insurance you purchaed would automatically cancelled, since you let your friend drive the truck. In short, the amount you would end up paying, you could buy a truck.

Read your contract. The answer IS in your contract. Usually, the answer depends on WHERE you rented the truck and where your friend is actually located when driving it. Also, your friend MUST be a licensed driver, if your friend will be allowed to drive it at all.

He can drive it, BUT, if he gets into an accident or the cops stops him, u r in
trouble. Best if he signed the papers.
I went thru something like that with BUDGET
rentals, three years ago, I was moving from
one State to another, and my son-in-law was to drive, although I had signed the papers, when we picked up the truck he got into it, well, they saw that and put a stop right there, Had to sign more papers with his name on it, all went well too.

Only if you have added his name to the contract under "additional driver".

If he is driving and has an accident, you-the renter, will be responsible for the full amount of any damages caused to either party. Insurance won't cover anything.
