I'm not sure about Crystal lake, but there is one In Grayslake Il, Dec 8th....
And on Dec 2nd in Wheaton Il.

The one in Wheaton at the Dupage County fair grounds is a good one. . . that's about an hour drive for you, but well worth it. They have it every 2 weeks I believe.

ummm....Do you watch discovery? Well it doesnt really talk about only reptiles but also mammals etc...
Well im really suprised that you're a great student and is interested in reptiles :)
