XD lol, just posted a similar question! Well, I think it's A LOT of influence, too much for our own good! It's making people sick (literally: anorexia, bulimia, general self esteem problems) and by doing so ,it's almost as if the media was a person! A concept isn't supposed to do that by itself!Only people do! An idea needs someone behind it so it can influence other people!

So yeah...it's influence is huge, we've got woman thinking that what's ideally beautiful is looking like Kate Moss, or Victoria Beckham or Lindsy Lohan, and men thinking they should look all dolled up as Beckham, or Leonardo Dicaprio or Brad Pitt!! It def influences the way I think I look, not too much though, cause I've learned to discern, but there was a time I was actually on the verge of getting a disease cause I thought I wasn't skinny enough, so another reason why I hate the media!

For most men, probably not too much.

Unfortunatly for most women, a whole bunch! But if you think our culture places undue emphasis on how a woman looks, you should see Brazil! It's not the plastic surgery capital of the world for nothing!
