The question is what is the best team in history. The Yankees bought most of their championships, so they don't count.
In football, it's got to be the 49ers during the Bill Walsh era.
In hockey, definitely the Red Wings. (They'll win again this year).
In basketball, it's a tie between the great Laker & Celtic teams.
In baseball, all teams to beat the Yankees in the World Series.

I am not a fan of them really but the Celtics did win 8 championships in a row and 11 out of 13 years. Id say they deserve serious recognition for best pro team in history.

Gotta be the Yankees, but that is with the understanding that most other sports have had some sort of Salary cap for some time. It is one of the oldest teams in America, and has the championships to prove it, but it has also long been a financial bully, outspending most competing clubs heavily.

many good teams, but only one team has won 25 world championships in the last century--that's the Yankees. No one else even comes close to that record
