Prey, If you prey to God and ask for forgivness and promise you'll never do it again you will feel a lot better about it. Also do something nice for your family /girlfriend that will also make you feel good.
Good luck

Letting go of your own stupidity and forgiving yourself is the hardest thing in the world to do - I wish to God I could forgive myself of stupid things I did 20 years ago that still burn.
What you can do is deserve the things you have now by learning from your mistake. What did you learn from your mistake? Take a moment or 2 to figure it out and figure out how not to make that mistake again. Once you have successfully gotten past your rectifications, forgiving yourself becomes easier. The point of this life is to make mistakes and learn from them, you would not be human if you didn't make mistakes!
You could also learn to laugh at your mistakes, and realize compared to everyone else, yours aren't so bad. I still cringe but I tell the story of how when I was 13 I was sent to the supermarket for some bread crumbs for a recipe my mom was making, and I couldn't find the can of bread crumbs in the spices or cooking section, so I asked the cute guy stocking the shelves, "Where are the bread crumbs?"
Without missing a beat the guy said, "in the bread section".
I was halfway home before I said to myself, "Duh."
I laugh now at my embarrassment, and have learned not to hang on to my pain at some of the worst things I did, but let them go.
It helps to forgive others, as well. Learn to forgive others, and they will forgive you in return.
It's possible. It takes a while, but it can be done.
Good Luck.

Regardless of what you did, you deserve to live happily. This sounds weird to me coming from myself, because I have often 'punished' myself for things I did that I regretted. However, reassure yourself that you won't make the same mistake again, and instead of viewing your good luck as an innapropriate reward, see it as an incentive to work towards fixing yourself. Look at it as a guide, not a result. I hope you work something out, good luck..

I'm not sure of your religion so I'm not gonna tell you to go pray to god but be thankful for what you have so far.
