We can read a book once or twice, maybe more. We can watch a movie once or twice, maybe more. But music is a different story. What makes you listen to the same music over and over again?

Once I get grabbed by the message of a particularly strong song, I can listen to it literally all day. Music is very dear to my heart. It's the lyrics and the emotional connection to the singer and featured instruments.

Probably because music is background and you can do other things while listening, so it doesn't really bore you as reading a book over and over would. Books and movies also have plots and characters which we learn about as we watch or read. After we are finished the mystery is gone, and so is our curiosity.
