I went all the time when they were around my town (70's). Then all but two of them closed up and the two remaining showed only porn (80's). That lasted a while till the morality council shut them down.

Now I only know of one in Mt. Airy, NC. (yep that's Mayberry) and it's great fun. They show first run movies (no porn) and it's a great place for a summer date !

There is a drive-in theater by Flint, MI. I don't think too many people are there to watch the movie, considering that their cars windows are steamed up, and the shock absorbers are getting a work-out, if ya know what I mean.

The last time I went to the drive-in, I saw "Terminator 2," so you can see it's been a while for me.

Last year.
They are becoming more and more rare, as the call for superior surround sound and a way to escape reality for two hours kind of eliminates the experience provided at a drive-in theatre, which can be hindered by a number of outside distractions, like traffic, aircraft, and weather.

The last time I was at a drive in was in the late 80's and yes there is a drive in just across the KY border a few minutes away that is alive and well in the warmer months. It is closed now for winter and will re-open in March.

The last time I went to a drive-in, Gerald Ford was president.
My city/area doesn't have a drive-in (and hasn't for decades).
I believe there are still drive-ins in my state (VA), but much further than where I live (Northern VA).

I've never done that in my life - I once had a chance to at my school, but I passed on it. I don't think those exist in my city though.
