I need to get my brother-in-law a gift. He's a big hockey fan, is in his early 30s, and has an 8 mo-old daughter (I don't want to get him any baby gifts, however, because I got my sister something just for her and not for the baby, so I'd like his gift to be just for him as well). My limit is $50. Any ideas?

Find out who is favorite player is then buy a two picture frame the frames roughly the size you put a school picture in.. then on ebay buy him a rookie card and a game used card or autographed card (2/3 being hockey it should not even be that expensive)... these will be pretty simple to find even though it seems like a tall order.. then put them in the frame it makes for a great gift because you are giving them a piece of somone they truly admire...

Check to see if they have any sportings goods stores like ***** or Models and get him a gift card. It may not seem like a good gift, but it's much easier than buying him something he is goingto have to or want to return after christmas. This way with the baby and all, he'll have a chance to go out and shop for himself.
